Also, I would be optimistic about getting a 2 BR place for $2K....I have a 3BR 2BA place with a garage and 100 sq ft of storage for slightly more than that although in the Richmond District. Still, public transportation to the area is great as is the access to Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach and Baker Beach. There's a lot of property for rent out here and the Sunset has more and it is less expensive. The Judah line is a straight shot to the Haight, Castro and downtown too.
