CAL-ERT 05/07/04 -- 6:15 P. M.

For those wishing to take an active role in protecting RKBA in
California,
the information below will be useful to you.

Dear Everyone;

An interesting article from USA Today comparing gun rights and
abortion rights. It is by a woman whom I'm guessing is also a gun
owner. She co-authored the book: Gun Women: Firearms and Feminism in
Contemporary America.

P.S. On the California bill to tax ammo and gun sales for a Firearms
Victims Reimbursement Fund one wonders how much of the funds raised
will go to administration - bureacracy - regulations and how much to
actually benefit a firearm victim. About 99% agency and 1% victim?
I'd be really interested to read the definition of a firearms victim.

Could it include the African-American who according to several eye
witnesses was apparently giving up and got gunned down by the SFPD
the other night? Or was the SFPD shooting retaliation for the
slaying of Officer Espinoza as others are claiming??!!

And " The Beat " goes on.

P.PS. How about a tax on each bill a legislator introduces of 10% of
their annual pay and benefits to go into a tax payers victims relief
fund? This should be at both the state and federal levels.

It's a great way to keep up on current issues important to

protecting

the right to self defense in California. Specific bills, their
impact, and how to express your opinion about them to your state
legislators is all available. Its from the NRA members councils of
California, the contact and subscription information is at the

bottom

of the page. I strongly encourage you, and your Libertarian

friends,

to get actively involved (writing letters, emails, or faxes) to

your

respective legislators as soon as possible, before it's too late

and

another chip off the rock of the fundamental individual right to

self

defense is removed by the statists in the California legislature.

Please continue to CALL, FAX, and EMAIL the legislators. All three
methods of communication are effective and we must keep up the
broad-based effort.
