Benefit for my prostitution arrest - Sunday, August 26, 7pm-? (SF)

In other news coming out of meeting with mayoral candidate Mike Powers of the Power Exchange, he has agreed to host my benefit to help raise money for my legal expenses arising out of my prostitution arrest in Fremont (see link and copy below for those to whom this is news), which after many delays is scheduled to go to trial Sept. 24. This benefit will be happening the evening of this coming Sunday, August 26, at 7pm, 74 Otis Street at South Van Ness in San Francisco.

My attorney Erica Franklin will be speaking on what to do if you are arrested and giving advice for criminal defendants, and answering your questions. I'm seeking to add other presenters and events, so please let me know if you have any ideas or can help out. Particularly seeking performers, art or other items to auction off (can potentially split proceeds with artists if desired), and contributions of food and drink.

I will post more details as this event comes together. Any help in planning would be greatly appreciated, and of course I hope to see you there!

Here’s another one of those “Your Tax Dollars At Work” stories that make us
all want to shut down Washington and cut up the Pentagon’s credit cards.

Didn’t California voters send Barbara Boxer to Washington on her promise to
prevent the military from ever again spending $800 for a hammer? At least
we’re now paying regular prices for common machine parts, but extraordinary
costs for shipping them to their destination.
