The Ballot Simplification Committee will be meeting beginning this coming Monday, July 30. This obscure committee plays a key role, deciding how information in the Voters Handbook is worded, and attending their meetings and proposing alternate wording can be productive, as we discovered in 2008 while supporting Proposition K to decriminalize prostitution. I suspect the discussion concerning the proposed declaration of policy on corporate personhood (see agenda in attached document from the BSC) could be particularly interesting, since this is a topic of much confusion and semantic subtlety.
