Announcing The ROCK THE R3VOLUTION TOUR Coming To A City Near You!

"I always knew that if you were going to have a revolution you needed two things. young people, and music." - Ron Paul

We're on our way Dr. Paul!

In 2007, We the R3VOLUTION, made history with a BLIMP. In 2011, We'll make history again with a ROCK THE R3VOLUTION TOUR!

It started as an idea floated on the Daily Paul.com.

It quickly sparked interest all over the country, so much that it moved from an idea to organizing in less than 48 hours.

We now have a growing organization behind it and a website

http://www.rocktherevolutiontour.com/

We believe that this is something that has the potential to become Very Huge.

Imagine great music from artists such as Per Capita, Jordan Page, Killjoy, Rise, Consise, and Krookid interspersed with liberty messages from featured speakers and voter registration tables and an added ability to identify Ron Paul supporters who we can later encourage to go to the polls for Ron Paul. Imagine a great opportunity for your local Ron Paul meetup and facebook groups to hand out literature and educate your neighbors, who will come out for music but haven't been paying attention to politics. All of this interspersed with more great music on tour all fall and winter! I think we'll make this bigger than the Blimp! From Coast to Coast, and the weather won't slow us down!

We're planning on keeping the great people at Rock The Vote very busy this election season!

We already have the donated vans. We already have musicians willing to do anything it takes to make this happen, and word of a big name act that is willing to do at least one show along the tour which we'll announce the name of later. I'd be surprised if more don't come forward before we get this show on the road.

Before we get this show on the road though we need four things to happen:

1. We need regional coordinators to assist our team with booking venues and promoting the event locally.

2. We need local musicians to come forward who can perform when the tour is in their town. Musicians with their own networks of fans is one of the keys to making this a success. We already have had artists get in touch with us who will be contributing to the tour this way, thank you! We just need to find more of you!

3. We have hopes this becomes self sustaining and even generates money on it's own to help fund other projects in support of Ron Paul, but to get this started we're going to need donations. We're going to be able to do things for less than others would pay, we've already had a venue manager come forward and give us a rock bottom deal, and again, I'd be surprised if we don't have more patriots coming forward to help like that. We're even saving money thanks to John Dennis's Freedom and Prosperity PAC letting us take donations securely through the PAC rather than relying on Chipin , which has steep fees. We're more than just a little thankful for all of this help, but there are still going to be expenses that we can't cover on our own just yet. Your generous donation to the ROCK THE R3VOJUTION TOUR will guarantee we get this show on the road!

4. A bus, yes the tour is already outgrowing the vans, and we need a bus or an RV! One that we can throw up some great r3volution graphics up on!

Dear All,

We moderators of this discussion group sometimes are stuck with having to make decisions as to whether it is OK to flood folks inboxes with one-way statements such as the one below. This is a "Discussion" group, right? That to us moderators means two-way conversations. If you like to give some input, please do.

Marcy

Marcy,

You raise an excellent point of Internet etiquette. Here is what I came up with for another list I run, the SFBayCannabisCommunity list (see http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SFBayCannabisCommunity/?yguid=69347091):

Out of respect for other subscribers, here are some guidelines for using the list:

• Messages designed to sell/market something or draw traffic to a website (aka "spam") are generally unwelcome, especially from persons not otherwise engaged in conversation here or known to be part of our community. Abuse of this may cause you to be unsubscribed and to incur bad karma!

• Civility toward other list members is appreciated. Strong disagreement is OK, but insults and ad hominem attacks are frowned upon. If you are angry when you write a message, give yourself some time to calm down and read it again before hitting "send." A good rule of thumb: If you wouldn't say it in person, don't say it via email.

• If you post something off topic (i.e. outside the group description above) please put "OT:" at the beginning of your subject line.

• On-topic messages written specifically to members of this list are the most preferred form of communication. You can help create and sustain a greater sense of community here by making sure a high fraction of the messages you post are of this kind.

• Forwarding material from other lists and posting articles is allowed, but including at least a short personal comment about the forwarded/copied material is strongly encouraged. If you post a link, please give an indication what it's about.

• Anyone can join this list, and messages can also be seen by non-members, so use discretion in choosing what to post.

Welcome!

I felt this strikes a good balance between maintaining list quality and not being unfriendly. If it seems to me that someone is posting too many of what I sometimes call "drive by" messages (what you have called "one-way statements"), without participating in conversation with group members, I try to gently remind them of these guidelines.

This all being said, I do think that the "Rock the rEVOLution" Tour is an exciting development, and commend "geckoontheceiling" for seeking to spread the word!

Love & Liberty,

Hi Starchild,

Excellent guidelines. Thank you. Good point also about the poster in question happening to be posting a topic many of us favor (Ron Paul); but I would prefer not to take sides, and apply your etiquette guidelines accross the board. Thanks again for the input.
