Additional Agenda Item/Tax Protest

I also think we should discuss trying to coordinate with war tax
protesters or others who might want to join us. There was talk of this
last year, but we didn't make it happen.

I wasn't at the last meeting -- was something done for the 15 minute
activism segment? Did anyone volunteer to supply an activity for this
month? The procedure was that a person to provide an activity at each
meeting would be determined at the previous meeting. I would say that
simply *discussing* Tax Protest Day isn't really activism, although I
think when such discussions are urgently needed and there's no time for
them during the rest of the meeting, then it would be within the spirit
of the activism item to use that time for such a purpose. Making signs,
or filling out a permit application, on the other hand, *would* be

I'd like to suggest that this year we apply for a permit for amplified
sound, and plan to use it. I don't know the last time we sought a
permit to do a protest or demonstration, if ever (not counting things

to see someone bring drums or other musical instruments. I have some
small drums, and a couple of those little hand-held things you shake
which I just got in Cuba (can't remember the name) but neither of these
are very loud.

What else could people bring that would be creative or different? Any

If Starchild does not already have a project for the Activism 15
minutes, I would like to use some of that time for the LPSF's Annual
Tax Protest Day:

Do we want to have a Tax Protest Day on April 15? If so,
Who commits to participate?
Who will bring the signs and literature? Bring a table?
Do we need to file any permits ahead of time?
Where do we want to have the Protest? Same place(Montgomery BART)?
