Addition for the agenda: Guest

Hi Aubrey and All,

When Aubrey posted the agenda for Saturday, I did not say anything about our prospective guest because I had not hear from him and did not know if he was still interested in attending. I just received his email confirming his desire to attend.

Cliff gave a summary of his idea on a long email to Aubrey and me, but his basic idea is the same as that of Seasteading and similar to the Free State Project -- no point trying to change the current political status quo, so best thing to do is to form a separate society of like-minded people.

I apologize that I took the liberty of telling him he could present his idea on Saturday at 4:50 pm. I saw no other choice, since I did not want us to appear uncooperative. The subject to be discussed last at the meeting is one that we do not have to deal with until some future election in 2016; therefore, we could shorten or postpone if necessary.

Marcy

Hi Marcy. Thanksfor responding to Cliff and inviting him to the meeting. I recall reading part of the email while Iwas on vacation and then forgot about it. The topic of a better procedure for ballot measure arguments would begood to iron out now while it’s fresh, but we ran out of time in the lastmeeting and that’s why I brought it up again this month. We can work on it until 4:50, as you noted, and then again next month, if we don’t finish (and we won’t!). It’s not critical now, and it is moreimportant to welcome a potential member and activist than hash out a betterprocess now. Since Cliff wanted to meet someone before the meeting(maybe he thinks we’re scary), I’ll contact him to see if he wants to havecoffee about half an hour before the meeting. Thanks!Aubrey
