AB 351 Passes and Rally Tomorrow!

Hi All! Good news for a change! Please read below and make a call to Governor Brown or email him to please sign AB351. I can't imagine why he wouldn't, but let's not take a chance. I will also try to call Pelosi's office tomorrow and voice my unhappiness with her pro-Syria bombing and pro-NSA stances and how these are not "San Francisco values." (By the way, both Feinstein and Boxer are firmly behind Obama over Syria--Jackie Speier fares better and is in the "Leans toward votingno" category.)

By the way, thanks to Phil for attending the Potrero Hill Democratic Club tonight and presenting the LPSF argument against Prop A. Ranting and raving was kept to a minimum, Phil was dressed like a mench, and despite a strong and slick presentation by the measure's author and proponent (Supervisor Mark Farrell), I think Phil left some doubt in the lefties' minds that maybe this is not such a great ballot measure after all. I will email the lady running the forum for their voting results tomorrow and advise how it turned out.

Thanks!
Aubrey

aubrey and I arrived just as the Sup who wrote Prop A began his speil.

smooth.

It is crystal clear, at least to me , that this prop is about the following...

Wvery politician wants to give candy to his supporters.

No Politician ( except for a few we know) will put it on the credit card , fudge the books, or do anything to assure that the candy flows for the length of his or her tenure.

Every poliched politician is able to lie to himself, that by delaying the bill, the problem will take care of itself.

He stated that the reason for the proposition was because the unions were worried that the insurance would not be there in the future.

Later, in rebut to me, he said that the trust was well funded.

I don't think that he knew that he was contradicting himself.

If the fund is properly funded now , there is no need for the proposition.

If it isn't properly funded, shouldn't that be addressed now, rather than passing a guarantee that all of the people in this city will someday have to pay for the failure to ensure the adequacy of funding promises now.

The losers here are either the kindergartners grown up to a broke city, or the poor future retireees who lost the bet that the kids would sacrifice for them.

It is simply not moral or responsible to not make thechoices now.

The Sup gave me the slimey feeling that I get from watching John Kerry.

smooth operator.

Let me at him.
I hope to stand off again. A few more times and he will show himself to be what he is.
