"Nick Clegg made an announcement that is absolutely breath-taking - one
I can't remember any politician doing in my lifetime. He called on the
public to submit recommendations for what laws need to be abolished. He
didn't say reformed, he said abolished, as in axed, in the ashcan,
obliterated from the books, ended, cease to exist, gone! This wasn't a
pre-election speech but a post-election speech." (05/19/10)

I was hoping that the Liberal Democrats would use their new balance-of-power clout to compel one of the establishment parties in Britain to embrace voting reform, ideally to adopt proportional representation so that alternative parties would get seats in parliament based on their percentages of the vote.

But this sounds even better! Let's cross our fingers and hope they actually follow through and can pull it off. If they do, it will be interesting to compare the results to the libertarian-oriented reforms that were implemented in New Zealand in the 1990s.
